What is your part exchange process?
You will hand over your part exchange vehicle and collect your new vehicle at our nearest Regional Delivery Centre to you. When you arrive they will check that the condition, mileage and ownership of your current car is as described on the part exchange form. If it is then we will confirm the value of your vehicle and the balance to paid to collect your new vehicle.
If the vehicle has been miss-described in any way or is not as expected then we will revalue it for you and explain any reasons for the change in value. Please note that if your part exchange allowance is part of the deal, then the deal itself will change and we will discuss this with you as well.
When you part exchange a vehicle with us you will need to bring all the documentation, keys, handbooks with you - see the section called "What paperwork do I need to bring with me when I collect my new car".
How long will it take for me to collect my new vehicle?
It will probably take about 3 hours for a credit sale as there is paper work that the finance provider must complete on the day. If it is a cash sale we require cleared funds before you collect the vehicle. This can be faster but allow 3 hours to be on the safe side. Don't worry, we'll provide plenty of tea and coffee! As this is a busy time for us it is very important that you arrive on time to help us!

What paperwork do I need to bring with me when I collect my new car?
Sorry - buying a car does require a lot of admin so the government knows who the owner is, the finance company knows they have made the right loan and we know we got the process right. However, we'll make it as easy as possible for you. It is very important that you bring the collect paperwork with you:
- Photo proof of ID (Passport / driving licence
- Proof of address (Utility bill / Tax Return / Council Tax bill)
- If you are financing your car we are also required to check to this paperwork too (Employment history / bank account details / current address)
- If you are part exchanging your old car you also need to bring
- The registration certificate (V5C)
- The current MOT if it requires one
- The service book and any receipts you have
- The vehicle handbook
- The vehicle Tax Disc
- The 2 sets of keys or fobs including any masters and the key numbers
- The jack and tools supplied with the vehicle and the locking wheel nut adaptor if required
- The radio and any immobiliser codes

How do I pay for my new vehicle?
You can pay using a loan arranged through us or make a payment for the full value of the new vehicle you have chosen. You can also use the value of your existing car as a payment towards the new vehicle (as part exchange). We will arrange for a value of you current car if you want (see the "Value your car" section). Please remember to deduct any money you owe on your current car from the value we give you.
Because we will be taxing the vehicle in your name we require cleared funds 48 hours before we register the vehicle for you. This means we must have received the money in our bank account. You can pay us using:
- Telegraphic transfer which your bank will arrange for you. The regional delivery centre will give you these details when they contact you to discuss the vehicle collection process.
- Personal Cheque (but please remember to leave enough time for the cheque to clear, usually 5 working days from when we receive it)
- Bank or building society cheque / Bankers drafts (again please remember to leave enough time for it to clear)
- Debit Card (note if you pay by debit card you must bring both parts of your driving licence with you so we can confirm ID and address)
Unfortunately we cannot accept payment by credit card at present. We hope to change this soon.

Can you give me some tips for choosing and buying a car?
A lot of jargon is used in the car buying process. Here are some of our top tips and help round the jargon:
When you choose a car you have a choice of model line, engine and trim level. Choose the size of car you need first.
In order of size Ka is Ford's smallest car which is sometimes described as a city car. Fiesta is the next size up. Fusion is a taller Fiesta which give you a driving position which is higher up - some people find this gives them better visibility and a feeling of control.
Focus is a medium size car often described as a family car because it give you more room for the rear passengers on long journeys and more luggage room. It also has bigger engines and a choice of saloon, hatchback or estate and bigger engines.
C-MAX is a taller version of the Focus and is a 5 seat MPV or "people carrier" type of vehicle.
Kuga is a compact 4x4 vehicle which is the same size as a Focus.
Mondeo is a large saloon car for bigger families and long journeys. Again you can get estate and saloon versions and lots of engine choices.
S-MAX is a product with the sleek styling of a saloon car but with 3 rows of seats inside which allows you to carry up to 7 people. However, the 3rd row of seat could be a bit cramped for larger people.
The Galaxy is a full sized MPV with 7 full size seats and luggage space.
Each Ford model comes is different trim levels. All models have good levels of equipment these days. Generally the range starts with the Style or LX, then moves up to a Zetec series. The top of the range models are the Ghia and Titanium. The ST series is Ford's performance or Sports vehicle.
Engines choices are either petrol or diesel. A diesel engine is more economical, however, both the fuel and the engine cost more to buy so you need to be driving over 12,000 miles or more to really make a diesel worthwhile (this varies according to fuel prices - you should calculate the pros and cons yourself before making a choice.)
You can buy a car using a variety of methods. You can pay us cash. You can pay us with a combination of cash and your old car (a part exchange). Or you can arrange finance which means borrowing the money to buy your new car and paying this back over an agreed period. If you call us we can advise you on the financial products we are authorised to sell.
When you know what car you want, and how you want to pay for it, give us a call or send us an e-mail and we will help you through the process!

What warranties do your cars have?
Our new cars come with a 3 year warranty.
Our used cars come with the balance of the manufacturers warranty or a minimum of a 3 month warranty from us if the car is over 3 years old.
However, we recommend that you take out one of our additional warranties and our service plans. Cars are often used daily in all sorts of conditions so we recommend you take out a service plan which allows you to convert your servicing requirements into simply monthly payments. This combined with our warranties will give you peace of mind while motoring!
