Press Release
"Ford @ The Frankfurt Motor Show"
When: 15-16 September 2011 | Where: Frankfurt, Germany
We’ve recently returned from the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany, which is said to have been bigger and better than in previous years. For Ford, the outdoor stand was a new feature which meant that visitors could see the new Ford technology in action. The new generation Ford Focus has new technology integrated throughout its design such as Traffic Sign Recognition and Active City Stop, which were both shown in action at the outdoor arena. In addition, Active Park Assist was demonstrated in the outdoor stand, proving that parallel parking is no longer a struggle when driving the new Ford Focus.
Moving inside the Frankfurt Motor Show, Ford promoted the four key features of their vehicles; Quality, Green, Safe and Smart. The ultra-low CO2 emissions of the new Ford Focus showed off Fords green credentials, plus Ford Eco-Boost engines impressed show visitors. The three cylinders, one litre Eco-Boost engine from Ford delivers more power and ultra-low emissions, just 115g in the new Ford Focus. Who’d have thought a one Litre engine could produce so much power with such green results? At FordRetailOnline we now have Eco-Boost engines available in the Ford Focus Titanium X and the Mondeo, C-MAX, Grand C-MAX, S-MAX and Galaxy.
Smarter features of Ford vehicles will be introduced next year when the new Ford SYNC technology is integrated, helping you keep your eyes on the road and connected to the world! Voice recognition makes it easy to use. Just tell it to make calls hands free, find and play your favourite music, get directions and receive them turn by turn, but that’s just for starters! Ford also revealed their ideas for alternative transportation with the Ford E-Bike, although there are no plans for the two wheel green machine to be put into production.
Ford also showed off its sportier side with the number 1 and 2 in the Australian Rally, the Fiesta WRC, plus the global ST-R race car featuring in the US. Ford pulled out all the stops, enabling visitors to experience everything first hand through a rally simulator and also displayed a brand new Formula Ford concept.
The biggest surprise at the Motor Show was the Ford Focus ST Wagon. There were already whispers about the Ford Focus ST, but the Wagon was an impressive surprise at the show as was the new Ford Fiesta ST concept car. But, the real star of the show was the Ford Evos concept, which is a sign of Ford designs in the future. To read more about the Evos and the idea behind the concept click to our blog here.
